Orientation Dive

The orientation dive is essential; 

It must be completed before you're allowed to dive independently or join guided dives.

An orientation dive on Bonaire is mandated by law for anyone who wants to dive on the island, whether you're new to Bonaire or haven't dived here within the past year. This applies regardless of your certification level or experience. And for good reason: this dive familiarizes you with local conditions and regulations and is enforced by STINAPA, the organization that manages the Bonaire National Marine Park.

Before you hit the water, we’ll give you a thorough Marine Park Orientation to help you dive safely and responsibly in Bonaire’s beautiful underwater world. We’ll share tips on how to float effortlessly without touching the reef, how to protect the marine life, and how to make your dives as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

You’ll also learn how to find the dive sites, which way to swim, and how to navigate underwater so you always know where you are.

The orientation dive can be done with one of our awesome dive pros, or just with your own buddy, it’s up to you! Either way, we’ll help you get your weighting just right so you can glide over the coral without using too much air.

So, what’s involved? A short dry session where we go over all the tips and tricks, followed by a wet session where we put it into practice in the water—always with care for the reef and it's amazing creatures.
