The tour includes stops at salt lakes where you can see flamingos in their natural habitat, quiet beaches, and beautiful coves. Washington Slagbaai National Park is the largest protected area on Bonaire and covers about one-fifth of the island. It’s home to many native birds, reptiles, and plants, and includes two internationally protected wetlands. The park also has a rich history; it was once inhabited by the Caiquetio Indians and later became one of Bonaire’s most important plantations.
The roads in the park are not paved, so expect a fun off-road adventure with bumpy trails and rugged terrain. Your guide will make sure you stay safe and comfortable throughout the journey, and there will be plenty of chances to take photos and enjoy the views.
